Day 2: Listening & Reading Day

As part of Shiksha Saptah celebration, Day 2 is dedicated to Listening & Reading Day, recognizing the critical importance of Listening & Reading. The activities may be performed by JNV Students of Class VI.

Objective:

Listening & Reading Day will serve as a platform to:

  • Raise awareness about the importance of Listening & Reading.
  • Showcase successful Listening & Reading initiatives and programs.
  • Share best practices and innovative approaches in Listening & Reading.
  • Engage educators, parents, and communities in supporting Listening & Reading efforts.

Importance of Listening & Reading:

Listening & Reading skills are the cornerstone of a child’s lifelong educational journey. They are the eyes and ears to understand and appreciate the world and knowledge there in. These skills are essential for :

  • Cognitive development and overall learning ability.
  • Building confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Ensuring equitable education and reducing learning gaps.
  • Enabling students to progress effectively through subsequent stages of education.

Activities Planned for Listening & Reading Day:

1. Workshops and Seminars:

  • Interactive sessions for teachers on innovative teaching methodologies and joyful learning for Listening & Reading.
    • Seminars for parents and caregivers on the role of home support in Listening & Reading.

2.Interactive Learning Sessions for Children:

  • Engaging activities and games focused on Listening & Reading skills.
    • Storytelling sessions to foster a love for reading.
    • Engagement of children in Language Development and Literacy skills through storytelling, as they listen and engage with the rich vocabulary, expressions, and narrative techniques used by the storytellers.

3. Panel Discussions:
