Good Morning to All of you. Today is 8th September World or International Literacy Day. Myself Vedant Darji, I would like to speech on the occasion of World Literacy Day. World Literacy Day is celebrated on 8th September every year. On 17th November 1965, the UNESCO declared 8th September as World Literacy Day.
This day is celebrated with the aim of awareness of the importance of education among the people in the country. This day is also celebrated to promote literacy all over the world. The main objective of this day is to send and educate all the children to school.
Literacy mean reading, writing, and understanding. Literacy is our big right. Education is very important for all human beings. All the same time, it plays an removing poverty, stopping population growth, reducing child mortality, maintain peace and democracy. Adult Education Campaign is run at national level everywhere to promote literacy in the society.
Education brings light in our life. We can do a good job, make our future bright and can provide comfort to our family by education. Our life is incomplete without the education so it is necessary to be educated. Government is also taking necessary steps. Literacy programmes like Serva Shiksha Abhiyan, Free and compulsory education have ben going on in India for many years. So that people can understand the importance of literacy. But even today there are many people who are not getting education due to poverty and lack of money.
It is also out duty to give our important contribution in making people literate. So that, every child of India can be education.
