Respected Principal Sir, Teachers and My Dear Friends Good Morning to All.
Today, I will speak on Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat in a Hindu family. His father Karamchand Gandhi was Chief Minister (Diwan) of Porbandar. He was the greatest freedom fighter. He is also called “Father of the Nation” or “Rashtrapita”. He always wore a simple dhoti made from Khadi.
He believed in simple living and high thinking. He was a great leader who fought for India’s freedom and equality. He started non co-operation and non-violence movements to gain freedom from British rule. Under his able guidance India became free on 15th August 1947. Gandhiji showed the world that love and peace can defeat hate.
He led India’s freedom struggle against British Rule with Marches and Movements. The salt march and quit India movement shook the British empire. His simplicity, humility, and selflessness earned him the respect of millions.
He taught us to stand for what is right, be kind, and bring people together. His message spread worldwide. He influenced icons like Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela. His birthday, October 2, is celebrated as International Day of Non – Violence. We celebrate it as Gandhi Jayanti.
As we remember Gandhi Ji, let us recall his word, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. Let us strive for a world where love conquers hate, where equality prevails, and where non-violence is the guiding principle.
Gandhi Ji legacy lives on he showed has that one person can make a difference.
Let us honour Gandhi Ji’s spirit by embracing his values and creating a brighter future for all.
This great leader of our country died on 30th January 1948. People from all the religions loved and respected him.
