Respected Principal Sir, Teachers and My Dear Friends Good Morning To All.

“If we have to make real development of the country, we have to take people of all religions and castes together.”

Today I am going to tell you all about such a great man who was a great freedom fighter. Millions of salutations again on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda Ji, the leader of tribal people who fought against the British Rule and placed an important role in the development of tribal society.

Birsa Munda was a great freedom fighter and tribal leader of India. He was born on 15 November 1875 in Ulihatu village of Jharkhand. his father’s name was Sugna Munda and mother’s name was Karmi Munda. He was born in a poor family. His father has accepted Christianity dueto poverty.

He took great interest in studies, he took admission in the Christian Mission School. His mind was always engaged in his society. He used to think about the bad condition done by the British Rulers. He provided his leadership to the Munda people to get freedom from the British.

Birsa made him aware of his rights. He wanted to make them stand against injustice, so that they could get their rights. The British rulers did not like Birsa Munda. They wanted to stop their rebellion. Birsa Munda was a patriot. He took an active part in the freedom struggle. He did many rebellions against the British and started fighting, so he was arrested on 3 February 1900. He was kept in Ranchi Jail. There he was severely tortured. He died in Ranchi Jail on 09 June 1900 at the age of 25. He fought with the British with indomitable courage and complete courage.

Birsa Munda served his people with a true heart, that’s why people considered him as an incarnation of God. On 10 November 2021, the Government of India announced to celebrate his birthday as ‘Tribal Pride Day’. In honor of his sacrifice, his portrait has been installed in the Central Assembly Hall of the Parliament of India. Birsa Munda Airport, Birsa Munda Central Jail, Birsa Agricultural University etc. are some of the institutions named after him. Birsa’s bravery and patriotism will never be forgotten. Even today he lives in the heart of every India. Birsa Munda is a source of inspiration for the entire youth of India Today.
